The SME Education Foundation’s mission is to prepare the next generation of manufacturing engineers and technologists through outreach programs to enrich students to study Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) as well as Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) education. Providing scholarships to these students ensure that we enrich the pipeline of students pursuing manufacturing engineering and engineering technology degrees.

Over our 30 year history, we have:

• Invested $5.3 million in youth programs, helping over 15,000 to explore career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education
• Granted-funded over $4.7 million in scholarships to students pursuing manufacturing-related careers
• Invested $17.3 million in grants to 35 colleges and universities to develop industry-driven curricula
