Grant Application
Due to current economic conditions, the SME Education Foundation is no longer accepting unsolicited proposals. We have spoken to many of you and encouraged you to apply. Regrettably, we are not in a position to provide support beyond our current obligations. If you did not receive a personal invitation to submit a proposal, we are unable to consider your request at the time. Please accept our apology for the inconvenience this has caused.
The SME Education Foundation is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing manufacturing education through youth outreach programs, scholarships and grants placing special emphasis on attracting under represented populations. Believing that the pipeline of young people seeking manufacturing-related technical degrees would not sufficiently fill future job openings, the SME Education Foundation seeks to address this issue by offering programs to ignite and fuel young learners' interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
In making granting decisions, the Foundation looks closely for the following detail:
♦ The proposal's relevance to the Foundation's areas of interest.
♦ The proposal's clarity in stating the expected project or program outcomes and the strategy for achieving them.
♦ The extent to which the strategy involves a collaborative approach to solving a problem or issue affecting the targeted groups or organizations.
♦ The proposal's connection to manufacturing.
Please Note: Paper applications are no longer being accepted.
