For almost 30 years our mission has been to develop the future manufacturing workforce by inspiring, supporting and preparing the next generation of manufacturing engineers and technologists.

National Robotics Challenge

Created in 1986, the SME-Robotic Technology and Engineering Challenge (RTEC) developed into one of the premier robotics and engineering student competitions in the nation. In 2004, the competition established a permanent home in Marion, Ohio and was introduced as the National Robotics Challenge. The SME-Education Foundation is proud to support the National Robotics Challenge where students demonstrate their engineering ingenuity and creativity encouraging them to pursue rewarding engineering careers.
