Since 1979, the SME Education Foundation has been one of the leading non-profits dedicated to the advancement of manufacturing education.

In September, the SME Education Foundation received a finalist award from Automation Alley for having the “Best Education Program of the Year.” The award honored the Foundation for its dedication to the advancement of grades K-16 manufacturing education – specifically for the Gateway Academy program and providing more then $29 million to youth programs, scholarships and awards.

SME Ford PAS/Henry Ford Academy Scholarship

Criteria

SME Ford PAS Scholarship Applicants

A. All scholarship applicants must be a past or present student of a Ford PAS program at their high school or in a Ford PAS after-school/weekend/summer/college program.

B. All applicants must be seeking a bachelor/associate degree in engineering or technology at an accredited college or university in the United States.

C. All applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale. Annual renewal will require a minimum GPA of 3.0.

D. Two letters of reference are required; one must come from a Ford PAS instructor.


Online Scholarship Application


Henry Ford Academy Scholarship Applicants

A. Scholarship applicants must be a graduating senior from Henry Ford Academy.

B. All applicants must be seeking a bachelor/associate degree in engineering or technology at an accredited college or university in the United States.

C. All applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale. Annual renewal will require a minimum GPA of 3.0.

D. Two letters of reference are required; one must come from a Henry Ford Academy instructor.

E. Scholarship recipients who attend University of Michigan-Dearborn will be given preference
