Help Us Build the Next Generation of Manufacturing

Our mission is to inspire, prepare and support the next generation of “new collar” workers by investing in STEM-based educational programs and student scholarships.

We cannot do this without your financial support. It is you, our valued and supportive donors, partners and volunteers, who make all of our work to educate future manufacturing leaders possible. Your support shapes a brighter future. Please give generously! Through your help, we are able to inspire, prepare and support the next generation of manufacturing engineers and technologists.

From individual to corporate; small to large; cash, endowments or legacy to in-kind giving; every single donation helps. For scholarships and continuing education, we have multiple tiers of giving:

Foundation Builders

Sometimes people are spurred by the moment; sometimes companies have less cash flow. Yet everyone in this group believes in inspiring and helping young students. No matter the size of your contribution, we appreciate, respect and thank you. This money may go to operating expenses or scholarships, or assist in our PRIME programs.

E. Wayne & Beulah S. Kay Legacy Society

The SME Education Foundation recognizes the following individuals who, through estate planning, have named the foundation as a beneficiary in their will or trust, or established a giving vehicle such as an annuity or remainder trust.

The Legacy Society is named in honor of E. Wayne and Beulah S. Kay, who moved to Detroit in the early 1940s and established a successful chrome plating company. Wayne was deeply committed to the SME Education Foundation, serving as chair of Detroit Chapter 1 in 1945. Later, he was instrumental in establishing Macomb Chapter 142.

Myrtle & Earl Walker Founder's Society

The Founder’s Society honors and recognizes our most generous supporters. Membership is based upon cumulative gifts ranging from $10,000 to $1 million.

Longtime supporters of the SME Education Foundation's scholarship program, the Walkers have impacted the lives of countless manufacturing engineering students, allowing them to pursue educational and career goals without having to assume heavy financial burdens.
