Since the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year, the SME Education Foundation has made it possible for students at Bay City Western High School to have access to new manufacturing education resources through its SME PRIME® program.
Over 30 SME PRIME® schools received financial awards from the SME Education Foundation to sustain their manufacturing and engineering programs this year.
Long Beach, Calif. Nov. 8, 2023 – The SME Education Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SME, announced Frank W Ervin III was reelected for a second term as its board of directors’ president at the recent Fall Gala on November 5th in Long Beach, Calif.
The SME Education Foundation launched its SME PRIME (Partnership Response in Manufacturing Education) program at the William D. Ford Career-Technical Center today. The program provides manufacturing education for high school students, creating a pathway to a lucrative career or additional manufacturing education opportunities post-graduation.
Students at William Horlick High School in Racine, Wisconsin, have had access to new manufacturing education opportunities from the start of the 2021-22 school year through the SME Education Foundation.
The SME Education Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SME, announced Frank W. Ervin III was elected as its 2023 board of directors’ president at its recent SME Fall Gala, with all officers and directors taking office Jan. 1.
The SME Education Foundation has recognized 16 SME PRIME schools that excel at providing STEM/CTE manufacturing knowledge and skills to students by awarding the schools sustaining financial support to help underwrite materials and operating costs.
The 2020 SME Education Foundation Board of Directors have taken office. The governing body of the Foundation, the board is comprised of leaders from industry and academia.
Wayne County, Michigan, businesses have joined forces to partner with the SME Education Foundation to make available education opportunities for students of Starkweather Academy, part of Plymouth-Canton Community Schools in Plymouth, Michigan.
