Since the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year, the SME Education Foundation has made it possible for students at Southfield High School for the Arts and Technology to have access to new manufacturing education resources through its SME PRIME program.
TROY, MICH. – OCT. 6, 2023 – The SME Education Foundation announced an expansion of its public/private partnership with the State of Michigan today, powering its SME Partnership Response In Manufacturing Education (PRIME) program in 16 additional high schools throughout the state.
SME, the nonprofit committed to accelerating new manufacturing technology adoption and building North America’s talent and capabilities, and global additive manufacturing leader Stratasys, announced the winners of their cosponsored 2023 Additive Manufacturing Competition, conducted as part of the 59th annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, held in Atlanta.
The SME Education Foundation will award 163 scholarships to students from 34 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces pursuing a post-secondary education in manufacturing, engineering or related fields in 2023.
Students at Rudyard High School in Rudyard, Michigan, have access to new manufacturing education opportunities for the 2022-23 school year through the SME Education Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SME, a 90-year-old non-profit association committed to advancing manufacturing technology and developing a skilled workforce.
Approximately 130 students at Airport High School in Carleton will have access to new manufacturing education opportunities for the 2022-23 school year through the SME Education Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SME, a 90-year-old non-profit association committed to advancing manufacturing technology and developing a skilled workforce.
The SME Education Foundation, which has awarded more than $8 million to nearly 3,500 students since 2005, has recorded a 95% increase in completed scholarship applications over its historical average.
The governing body of the Foundation, the board is comprised of leaders from industry, academia as well as community leaders.
The SME Education Foundation today announced a new $2 million diversity, equity and inclusion scholarship to increase awards to underrepresented students.
