Filling manufacturing jobs is a growing challenge across the country. Nearly 2.5 million manufacturing jobs will go unfilled in the United States by 2030. Launched in May 2023, the Edwardsburg PRIME program is an important step to help strengthen the Southwest Michigan labor force and fill future manufacturing positions.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 10, 2023 — Students throughout Georgia will have access to new advanced manufacturing technology and training through the SME Education Foundation.
SME, the nonprofit committed to accelerating new manufacturing technology adoption and building North America’s talent and capabilities, and its SME Education Foundation launched their new Bright Minds Student Mentorship Program this month, designed to help select Foundation scholarship recipients find qualified, approved mentors to help guide their manufacturing education and careers.

With the Bright Minds Program at HOUSTEX, high school students had a chance to explore the latest technologies and connect with industry professionals. At the convention center, students saw a virtual reality training program where machines are used to simulate the floor of a worksite. East Jackson, Mich. Oct. 27, 2023 - Since the beginning of the 2022-23 academic year, the SME Education Foundation has made it possible for students at East Jackson Secondary School in Michigan to have access to new manufacturing education resources through the SME Education Foundation.
