Providing pathways to manufacturing, engineering, and related careers through high-quality educational opportunities is central to the SME Education Foundation’s mission of inspiring, preparing, and supporting the next generation of manufacturing and engineering talent. The need for well-educated, well-trained manufacturing professionals is at the forefront of our national conversation. 

The Foundation is proud to be a leader in addressing this tremendous skills gap as we work toward race and gender parity in our sector. We are actively working to increase opportunities for women and minorities, and we are happy to report that, in the past two years, a record number of scholarships were awarded to underrepresented students. This is thanks to our new dedicated Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and need-based renewable scholarship programs. To continue this momentum, the Foundation is embarking on a multi-year effort to raise an additional $2 million to support these efforts.
