Become 1 of 500 Essential Scholarship Application Reviewers

and help us award $1 Million in scholarships.

Your expertise determines the foundational support we offer aspiring students. Your insightful review and scoring of each application serve as the cornerstone for the scholarship awards we disburse, directly impacting the academic and future career paths of the next generation of manufacturing and engineering talent.

Since 2005, we’ve awarded more than $18 million in scholarships to aspiring manufacturing and engineering students. This remarkable achievement reflects our commitment to supporting the future of our industry.

Our scholarship awards would not be possible without hundreds of dedicated scholarship application reviewers who volunteer their time and expertise each year to evaluate the applicants.

If you are a manufacturing, engineering professional or educator with a STEM background, we invite you to join us in this rewarding and impactful endeavor to volunteer your time to review and score these applications. By becoming a scholarship reviewer, you will have the opportunity to support the next generation of manufacturing and engineering talent to help them achieve their academic goals. Prior experience is not required, and we provide all the necessary training and guidance. All you need is a few hours of time and a passion for supporting the next generation of manufacturing excellence. You don’t have to be an SME member.

We make it easy for you:

  • The review process is online, and you can complete it at your convenience.
  • Reviews take place from February to March.
  • The estimated time commitment is two to three hours.
Individuals with SME Technical and Lean certifications (CMfgT, CMfgE, LBC, LSC, LGC) will receive two credits toward their recertification with their successful participation as a scholarship application reviewer. If you can volunteer two to three hours over a 30-day period from February to March, we welcome your involvement. We can’t do it without you!
“It was such a rewarding and inspiring experience, to see the applications of the next generation of young manufacturing professionals. ”
