The SME Education Foundation works to inspire, prepare and support an advanced manufacturing workforce through education. Through building awareness of opportunity, enhancing academic opportunity and directly helping students at every level, the SME Education Foundation works to offer students a path to explore, learn and grow in fields associated with manufacturing.
SME, with its more than 86 years of experience and expertise in events, publications, membership, and training and development, is, together with the SME Education Foundation, committed to promoting manufacturing technology, developing a skilled workforce and attracting future generations to advance manufacturing...and we’d like to help with your story.
The SME PRIME initiative’s success in inspiring and preparing high school students for skilled careers in manufacturing is the result of its consultative model of engaging with local manufacturers, schools and their communities to tailor and create relevant training and development for current and future workforce needs.
The SME Education Foundation inspires, prepares and supports manufacturing career opportunities for students at every level.
Shape Corp., a global tier-one automotive and industrial component supplier, is the latest manufacturer to join the growing list of companies partnering with the SME Education Foundation to expand its exemplary manufacturing education program for high school students.
The SME Education Foundation has presented the Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) with its 2017 Outstanding Partner Award, recognizing support of the Foundation’s mission to inspire, prepare and support the next generation manufacturing workforce.
In 2014, we awarded $617,800 to 248 students across the country, with awards ranging from $1,000 to $70,000.
In 2012, we awarded $521,400 to 205 students across the country, with awards ranging from $1,000 to $70,000.
For the past year, I have had the incredible opportunity to pursue my passion for manufacturing by studying mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech (Atlanta); I would not be where I am today without the help of the SME Education Foundation Family Scholarship.
