SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 10, 2023 — Students throughout Georgia will have access to new advanced manufacturing technology and training through the SME Education Foundation.
SME, the nonprofit committed to accelerating new manufacturing technology adoption and building North America’s talent and capabilities, and its SME Education Foundation launched their new Bright Minds Student Mentorship Program this month, designed to help select Foundation scholarship recipients find qualified, approved mentors to help guide their manufacturing education and careers.
The SME Education Foundation and Proviso West High School welcome BorgWarner as a significant corporate contributor enabling preparation for students pursuing careers in manufacturing and engineering.
The SME Education Foundation awarded a record number of scholarships to women and/or minorities: Scholarship awards to female students nearly doubled, and scholarships to minority students and minority female students nearly tripled and quadrupled.
The application process for SME Education Foundation Scholarships remains open through Feb. 1, 2020.

creating a machine-repair career pathway, implementing new courses, and providing
students with training experience using a Festo equipment training system.
The SME Education Foundation annually awards millions of dollars in scholarships to graduating high school seniors, undergraduates and graduate students pursuing two-year, four-year or advanced degrees in manufacturing or engineering.
